SENK Potter, Sarah Kohrs, kohrs@shentel.net

Sarah Kohrs is a Shenandoah County writer and artist, working particularly in pottery, photography, and poetry. For eight years, she has been creating wheel-thrown and hand-built pottery, which range from personal touch mugs that just feel right in your hands to custom-built work to celebrate a special occasion or remember a meaningful life event. SENK crafts stoneware vessels, altered, carved, or intricately glazed. In addition to pottery, Sarah is a photographer and poet, whose work has been published in a wide array of literary arts journals. Her photography is printed on canvas or in metallic prints and framed. Find a Shenandoah Valley image or artistic perspective that inspires your day.

SENK has savored art and poetry since she was a young girl growing up in Shenandoah County. She studied ceramics at The College of Wooster in Ohio. Her husband converted a goat shed into a pottery studio in 2010 and just recently expanded the space for her to use. She is a homeschooling mother of three sons and volunteers with many philanthropic non-profits in the Shenandoah Valley and beyond.

Sarah takes custom orders, as well, if there is a special piece of pottery you would like her to make for an upcoming special occasion or to enjoy in your home. Find out more about SENK online at http://www.senkohrs.weebly.com.
